Building trust through dialogue between the security forces and the community

1- A Brief Description of the Activity 1-
Three focus group sessions were conducted in Tikreet, Shirqat and Balad
Districts. Fifteen participants attended each session from influential
community leaders and security forces in the three areas aforementioned.
In-depth discussion was raised and talked about the problems and hinders that
prevent the society from communication with the security forces. Also, they
discussed the ways to enhance trust and confidence between the two parties.
2- Three sessions were conducted in
Tikreet, Shirqat and Balad Districts. 123 influential figures participated in
those sessions. During the session there had been a debate over the
relationship between the security forces and the society and what are the reasons
that might prevent people from cooperation with the security forces.
3- Organizing nine raising awareness
lectures to secondary students in Tikreet, Shirqat and Balad Districts. 540
secondary students participated in the lectures. The goal was to raise their
awareness and culture on the importance of community policing and the
security forces in achieving stabilization and the role of youth in
supporting peace through the elimination of terrorism and spreading the
culture of peace and tolerance.
