Rehabilitation of Mulla Omar School in Erbil – Kurdistan Region of Iraq
Dinar: Stichting Human Point
The project focused on the rehabilitation and improvement of the learning environment at Mulla Omar School in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The rehabilitation covered 13 classrooms and included repairing cracks in walls and ceilings, painting classrooms, repairing and painting doors, and replacing damaged windows. The works were completed within 9 days, from 1 to 9 September 2026.
The activity was designed not only to improve the physical condition of the school, but also to contribute to a safer, cleaner, and more welcoming learning environment for students and teachers. Improving classrooms and repairing damaged facilities helps create spaces that are more suitable for daily teaching and learning activities and supports students’ comfort and engagement in school.
Through this initiative, Stichting Human Point, with implementation and follow-up by the Iraqi Institution for Development (IID), contributed to strengthening the educational environment by improving the physical conditions in which children learn. The initiative reflects the belief that change begins with education, and that investing in safe and appropriate school environments is an investment in children, their education, and the future of their communities.
